These decorative metal trees are made of 100% aluminum with an anodized finish. The trees, when handled lightly should last countless holidays. The aluminum can be dented and gouged when scraped or dropped while the finish can be scratched away. However, when handled with care, the metal and the finish should stand up to indoor and even inclement outdoor elements without fade for many many years (in constant daily use). We recommend any apparent scratches or blemishes be wiped with a cloth. Often what looks like a scratch is something that has scratched off onto the aluminum, and it will simply wipe away. If needed, wash with soap and warm water.

We recommend simply sliding the tree pieces apart, wrapping each in tissue or cloth, and storing flat until next time.

I grew up in small cozy house at the edge of the woods. Christmas decor always involved a strong Scandinavian and handcraft influence and everything from hand-painted rosmaling to candle-powered chimes, carved dala horses and woven julbocks or even paper ornaments my sisters and I glued together in grade school. All of my favorite ornaments always had an element of craft as well as something kinetic about them — they required my hands to assemble or my eyes to watch them twist and move. I’m simply making my own ornaments now, things that I want, and that I enjoy sharing w/ you. These trees, to me, are shaped like Christmas at the edge of the forest, engage my hands in their assembly and disassembly and entice my eyes as candle light flickers through their cut out “ornaments”. I hope they bring you even half the joy they bring me. -Krister
